The story follows Billy, an artist who struggles with being alone. She encounters Christine, who mistreats her, while her best friend Kim believes she deserves better. Billy meets Alex and experiences blackouts and hallucinations of her own death, stuck in a time loop since the night Alex bought her a drink. Billy finds solace in Rose, a photographer who understands her situation.
The movie heavily relies on cheesy misdirection, similar to a cinematic magic trick. It combines elements from “Sleeping with the Enemy” and “Palm Springs,” expecting the audience to care despite viewers knowing better.
Jagged Mind begins with an intense sex scene between two women, which portrays their sexual pleasure explicitly but still the chemistry between the 2 leads still feels a bit off. Regrettably, Jagged Mind resembles an episode of a horror anthology rather than a standalone film. It has a suitable runtime of 1 hour and 28 minutes, but it feels somewhat slow-paced and suffers from repetitiveness due to the time loop storyline.
