Big Boss is indeed the big boss of entertainment when it comes to drawing viewership. Although JioCinema lacks in numbers when it comes to streaming movies and series, it is hitting it out of the park with Big Boss and other live sports events.
When it comes to live entertainment content, JioCinema reports that no other show in the past came close to the stats registered by Big Boss. There are some series like Wednesday and Stranger Things that beat the Indian show, but in live entertainment, it becomes the undisputed king.
The show was streamed for 3000 crore minutes, and if that wasn’t staggering enough, it also set the record for 10 crore unique viewers. Speaking about the finale of the show, it enters the global top 5 in terms of the most streamed live entertainment event and tops the chart in India. It registers 2.3 crore viewers and 72 lakh peak concurrency.
Also, when it comes to drawing more people, JioCinema opted for some new tactics. From more interactive means to a 24-hour livestream, they played all their cards.
As JioCinema tries to establish a dominant spot when it comes to live entertainment events, they have already written their name in gold letters when it comes to sports. The Reliance Entertainment venture has already snatched all big events from the house of Disney+ Hotstar.
So, in their journey, JioCinema is making IPL, ISL, MotoGP, Big Boss, and the FIFA World Cup its best buddies. Can they capitalize on the numbers they are pulling? Only time will tell.
