JioHotstar often trends for UI errors and advertisement glitches. A new issue is now troubling many subscribers. Users feel disappointed as the promised native 4K quality does not show any major improvement during streaming.
Branded as Asli 4K, the upgrade was meant to offer a premium streaming experience. Instead, viewers report soft visuals, dull colours, and output that looks similar to standard HD. This has led to frustration among those expecting a real 4K boost.
Since 4K needs stronger servers and higher bandwidth, users with proper setups still cannot access true 4K. Many have shared posts online accusing the platform of misleading promotions around the Asli 4K feature.
The constant Asli 4K watermark has made things worse. It remains at the bottom of the screen even when the stream looks like HD. Viewers say it affects the experience and adds to their irritation.
If Jio Hotstar fails to address the issue soon, subscribers who value better quality may shift to other platforms. A timely fix could improve satisfaction and help Jio Hotstar maintain its place among India’s leading OTT services.
Why @JioHotstar why this big ugly logo on the screen, whats the logic? Are you guys scared that there is a chance that I wouldn’t know that I chose the option to view 4K content? Why not hire a person who would come to my home just write asli 4K on my forehead, just to be sure pic.twitter.com/edUoOLnkwD

We are paying this shitt 1500 INR per year even after that
– They claim to have 4k streaming on premium but nearly 80% content doesn’t has streaming quality above 1080p
– Even that 1080p on Hotstar looks so ass
This happens only and only with hotstar, other otts are smooth af https://t.co/1MdkRORNCZ pic.twitter.com/YIIThaOp7V— Yashraj Girawale (@YGirawale) December 1, 2025
Fox 1080p >>>> Hotstar 4k. It cannot be just due to AQI. #AUSvENG #Ashes2025 pic.twitter.com/Ei4CuPwL88

@JioHotstar Fake & false advertising!
Not a single popular VoD service streams in native 4K.
There’s barely any difference between your 1080p & 4K streams.
So, damaging my OLED TV & ruining my viewing experience by shoving your ASLI 4K logo in my face? pic.twitter.com/d892pTdazk
