The fourth season of The Great Indian Kapil Show is seeing a clear dip in viewership, especially at the global level. This has happened despite the presence of several high-profile celebrity guests.
After premiering on Netflix on December 20, 2025, the show struggled to maintain a steady position in Netflix’s global top 10 rankings.
The season opener featuring Priyanka Chopra failed to enter the global top 10 during its release week. This came as a surprise, given the actor’s international popularity.
At the same time, Single Papa, led by Kunal Kemmu, was the only Indian show to make the global top 10 list. The Great Indian Kapil Show appeared on the list only once in its first three weeks.
The show ranked eighth globally in its second week, drawing around 1.7 million views. However, the first and third episodes did not make the cut, pointing to inconsistent overseas interest.
In India, the picture has been more positive. The show stayed in Netflix India’s top 10 for three consecutive weeks and consistently held the second position.
As per Ormax Media, the Priyanka Chopra episode registered 1.5 million views in India. The episode featuring the Indian women’s cricket team recorded 2.3 million views.
The episode starring Kartik Aaryan and Ananya Panday followed closely with 2.1 million views.
Despite this improvement after the premiere, season 4 continues to trail behind earlier seasons. The overall numbers remain lower compared to past performance.
Season 3 opened with 3.8 million views for the episode featuring Salman Khan, which remains the highest for the series. Subsequent episodes in that season also performed better.
Kapil Sharma has acknowledged the pressure of these numbers. He recently joked about being accountable to Netflix for the show’s performance.
While the show still enjoys strong relevance in India, its weakening global presence raises concerns about long-term momentum on the platform.
