HBO has unveiled the official teaser for The Regime, a forthcoming television series starring actress Kate Winslet as an authoritarian Chancellor with a detachment from reality who is frantically fighting to maintain power. Matthias Schoenaerts plays the Butcher, with Guillaume Gallienne, Andrea Riseborough, Martha Plimpton, and Hugh Grant.
Jessica Hobbs and Stephen Frears are in charge of a new HBO series. Will Tracy wrote the series, which has been executive-produced by Winslet, Frears, Frank Rich, and Tracey Seaward. The writers’ room comprises Seth Reiss, Juli Weiner, Jen Spyra, Gary Shteyngart, and Sarah DeLappe.
This is Winslet’s third miniseries for HBO, following “Mildred Pierce” and “Mare of Easttown.” Frears has directed many films, including “High Fidelity,” “The Queen,” and “Florence Foster Jenkins.” Hobbs is well-known for directing episodes of “The Crown” and “Broadchurch.”
The six-episode limited series, created by Succession’s Will Tracy and Frank Rich, as well as The Queen director Stephen Frears, chronicles the narrative of one year behind the walls of a modern European state as it begins to crumble.
