Aamir Khan Productions is renowned for delivering films with strong and entertaining content. From Lagaan and Taare Zameen Par to Delhi Belly and Secret Superstar, all have been exceptional films, regardless of their box office performance. Only Laal Singh Chaddha turned out to be bad.
The production house’s latest offering, Laapataa Ladies, directed by Aamir Khan’s ex-wife Kiran Rao, unfortunately, saw a flop at the box office.
However, those who viewed it in theaters have nothing but praise. While the film may tackle somewhat outdated issues, its narration is incredibly engaging and entertaining.
Speculation suggests that the film will garner much more appreciation upon its release on OTT platforms. Laapataa Ladies is ideally suited for OTT viewing and is anticipated to perform exceptionally well in that space.
Set against the backdrop of rural India in 2001, Laapataa Ladies follows the story of two young brides separated during a train journey, delving into the consequences as Kishan, a dedicated police officer, investigates their disappearance.
While the movie has struck a chord with its intended audience, many eagerly await its release on OTT platforms.
The film will begin streaming on Netflix in the last week of April. It is anticipated to remain in the top 10 rankings for at least a few weeks.
