Manoj Bajpayee’s last few films didn’t match the caliber he holds as an actor but he packs a solid punch with his latest release “Sirf Ek Banda Hi Kaafi Hai”.
This courtroom drama directed by Apoorv Singh Karki who also directed the highly appreciated ‘TVF Aspirants’, is the story about PC Solanki, a lawyer fighting for justice for Nu Singh, a minor sexually assaulted by a self-styled godman. Solanki faces attacks but never gives up. He’s a simple man from Jodhpur, worried about his family’s safety.
The story is based on Asaram Bapu case that shook the nation years ago. The powerful self-styled godman got sentenced to life in prison after a minor devotee accused him of assaulting her at his ashram.
Manoj Bajpayee brings both vulnerability and strength to his character. His dialogues has a poetic quality that deeply resonates with the audience. The movie tells a story important for society without being preachy.
