MNS Threatens Netflix Series Over ‘Bombay’ Remark

MNS Warns Kapil Sharma

Kapil Sharma has received a fresh warning from Maharashtra Navnirman Sena regarding his Netflix series, The Great Indian Kapil Show. The party has objected to Mumbai being referred to as “Bombay” on the show and issued a warning to both Kapil and Netflix.

The controversy is linked to the city’s official name change from Bombay to Mumbai many years ago. MNS leader Ameya Khopkar has urged celebrities to respect the official name and avoid using the old one on public platforms.

In a tweet, Khopkar mentioned that some Rajya Sabha MPs from Delhi, anchors of TV shows, and Bollywood movies have also used the name Bombay. He said this is a request, not a threat, but warned against repeating the term in the future.

Such warnings are not new for Kapil Sharma, who often finds himself in the headlines for various reasons. While Kapil has not responded to the controversy, the issue may boost interest in his Netflix series.

Fans are now waiting to see if Kapil and his team respond or if the matter escalates further. The situation may become serious if the name is repeated again on the show.
