The movie “Murder Mubarak,” featuring Sara Ali Khan, Vijay Varma, Pankaj Tripathi, and Karisma Kapoor, hit Netflix screens last week. Despite the buzz around it and the impressive cast, the film has left many viewers unimpressed.
Billed as an Agatha Christie-style murder mystery akin to Hollywood hits like “The Murder on The Orient Express” and “Knives Out,” “Murder Mubarak” promised an engaging whodunit plot.
Directed by acclaimed filmmaker Homi Adajania, known for his works like “Being Cyrus” and “Cocktail,” and produced by Maddock Films, known for their entertaining movies, expectations were high.
However, the film failed to live up to these expectations. Viewers found the narration lacking, the characters dull, the screenplay confusing, and vulgar scenes made them feel disgusted.
Sara Ali Khan’s performance particularly received criticism, with some feeling her acting was caricaturish. Pankaj Tripathi’s portrayal also felt repetitive, bordering on annoying.
The climax of the movie was a major letdown, leaving many viewers scratching their heads in confusion due to the illogicalness.
As a result, there’s been a backlash from audiences on Netflix, with many slamming the platform for serving them subpar content like “Murder Mubarak.”
