MX Player Ditches Prime Video To Join This Platform

MX Player Ditches Prime Video With increasing competition among various streaming platforms in India, every platform is doing what’s best for them to survive among giants like Netflix, Prime Video, and Disney+ Hotstar. While platforms like Jio Cinema have managed to deliver most of the content for free to lure the audience, another streaming service like SonyLIV relies on the trust of the people as it delivers selected but quality shows.

MX Player is another such streaming service that gained widespread fame during the lockdown with shows like “Aashram” and “Chhatrasaal,” but later vanished due to a lack of quality work being catered to the public. The initial success of MX Player was not solely due to its shows but also the amount of FREE content it delivered to the public. Now, since they are lagging behind most of the streaming services, they need to come up with something great. Earlier there were reports that MX Player was going to join hands with Prime Video but it seems things did not work out between them. Therefore, they have planned to collaborate with Distro TV, which is a free ad-supported streaming TV service. This integration will allow MX Player users to stream hundreds of Distro TV channels and their content for free.

Distro TV co-founder Navdeep Saini said, “We are excited to partner with MX Player, which is amongst the largest streaming services in the world. We are bringing the best of Indian and International FAST content to Indian audiences. This partnership will bring content across both mobile devices and Connected TVs.”

Distro TV offers more than 180 channels in India, offering a great variety, including news, sports, fashion, and movies, in different languages. It will be interesting to see whether this collaborative effort helps MX Player regain its lost audience or not.
