Netflix & YRF Join Hands For Multiple Years

Netflix Yash RajAmidst an ongoing power game between the OTT companies and conventional film studios, Yash Raj Films (YRF), one of the biggest studios in Bollywood has tied knot with Netflix, the biggest streaming platform in the world, for a multi year creative partnership. The two will collaborate to bring forth a number of films and series with an aim to serve a broader audience.

The first project under this partnership will be “The Railway Men”, a four part thriller series based on the Bhopal gas tragedy in 1984. The workers of the Bhopal railway station will be the protagonists of the series who saved thousands of lives. It has an impressive star cast including R. Madhavan, Kay Kay Menon, Divyenndu Sharma, Babil Khan. Shiv Ravail will be making his directorial debut with the series.

Another project in work under this partnership is “Maharaj”. It’s a story of an ordinary man who takes on a god-like figure in the 1800s. The protagonist is a journalist by profession. This film will mark the debut of Junaid Khan, son of Aamir Khan. Jaideep Ahlawat, Sharwari and Shalini Pandey also feature in the film.

The partnership between Netflix and YRF will churn out content for both local and global audiences. The partnership would also help to increase the reach of the film or series to non-hindi speakers.
