Netflix’s 3 Body Problem Opens With Confusing Reviews

3 Body Problem

Based on Liu Cixin, famous sci- fi, thriller trilogy “The Three-Body Problem”, Netflix launched their new series with the same name, from the creators of “Game of Thrones”. Season 1 of “3 Body Problem” confused most of the audience.

To understand the whole concept of the series, one has to take help from the novel. To make it easier, the story is about humanity’s first interaction with the aliens, and those unearthly creatures want to capture earth. But, we have two groups, one who are trying to rescue the whole of humanity and one who are helping those creatures. In between this main plot, many significant plot twists take place that include the death of some really important character and time travelling.

Season 1 is confusing the audience because of its approach to narrate the story. The same kind of confusion occurred when “Dune: Part 1” was released. Because, for a viewer who is not aware of the novel, won’t understand the underlying facts. Same problem is happening with “3 Body Problem” as they are focusing on the events more, and less on the settings.

Sci- fi is a very tricky genre to explore as it contains a lot of lore and theories. In my opinion, the series is not getting the deserved appreciation because they aren’t spoon feeding the audience which the majority of the viewers are used to.

Critics are saying that it is very difficult to keep up with, because it keeps on showing futuristic aspects and when the audiences are waiting for a twist they drag the whole situation down with smart character work.

As the series has two more books inside the bag, which is “The Dark Forest” and “Death’s End”. I am quite sure from the previous experience that the creators will make it easier to understand from the upcoming parts.
