OTT has emerged as a perfect platform for big-ticket films to carry out world-building and penetration exercises. It was seen in the case of Pushpa and Salaar as both the films trended big time on OTT after their Amazon Prime and Netflix debut respectively.
Thanks to OTT, both Pushpa and Salaar were taken to wider audience and this perfectly helped the franchise-building exercise as both these films are set to have their sequels in the due course.

Reviews-wise, both the film got in the range of ‘above-average-to-decent’ reviews so the sequels might start their box office run from a similar starting point. So it could be said that the majority of the build-up for the sequels is primary from OTT reception. Needless to say, the mainstay for the sequels will be the strength in narration and the content.
