OTT Faces Chandrayaan-3It was indeed one of India’s biggest evenings as the entire nation celebrated ISRO’s enormous success in landing Chandrayaan-3. Many platforms streamed this historic event, including YouTube.

Apart from YouTube, JioCinema and Hotstar garnered significant attention with their streams. Hotstar provided a seamless streaming experience overall, and on the surface, JioCinema wasn’t much different.

However, the reality is quite different because JioCinema not only attracted viewers but also generated controversy. They were observed displaying advertisements during the streaming.

From a business perspective, this may seem fine, but for an Indian platform to engage in such behavior leaves a bitter taste. Is it ethical? That remains an open question for the masses.

The whole Chandrayaan landing was streaming for free on YouTube. The entire nation was enjoying the success, and the interruptions were just too annoying.

Some people complained about the streaming experience, which could have been far better than it was. It’s quite baffling why people would even bother watching the live stream with ads when they can have a similar or better experience on YouTube.
