The initial reviews for the Amazon Prime movie, ‘Red, White & Royal Blue’ are in and the movie is a big hit. The film debuted with a rating of 92 percent on Rotten Tomatoes. The movie currently has a very high IMDb rating of 8.1 as well. The Amazon Prime film was released on Friday, 11th of August.
The film is a romantic comedy that is based on the 2019 novel of the same name written by Casey McQuiston. The movie has Taylor Zakhar Perez and Nicholas Galitzine in lead and opposite roles. The star studded cast includes Uma Thurman, Stephen Fry, Sarah Shahi, Rachel Hilson and Ellie Bamber. The director, Matthew Lopez, is making a directorial debut for feature film with ‘Red, White & Royal Blue’.
The initial fan review of the movie is mostly positive and to quote a fan, the film has a “funny sense of humor with some hilarious one-liners and double entendres also”. Critics on the other hand didn’t appreciate the movie as much as fans and for few it was “a royal misfire”. It is interesting to note that the movie was written during the AWG and SAG- AFTRA strikes.
