Subscribers who wish to avoid these ad interruptions will need to pay an additional $2.99 per year for the US plan, while details regarding the price hike in India are still pending.

Prime’s justification for introducing ad breaks is that they aim to invest the additional revenue generated through these ads into producing higher-quality content.

This move has displeased many long-standing subscribers, as OTTs were considered an upgrade from traditional TVs where multiple ads would play during a movie.

In fact, avoiding excessive ads was one of the main reasons why many people found it more comfortable to watch movies on OTT platforms rather than on TV.
