Sunny Deol’s movie Gadar: Ek Prem Katha was one of the biggest blockbusters of early 2000s. Directed by Anil Sharma, It is the story about Tara Singh, a Sikh truck driver who falls in love with Safeena and marries her. When Safeena’s family moves to Pakistan during the Partition, Tara goes after her to bring her back.
The moving love story and powerful action sequences made everyone a fan of this movie. Now after more than 20 years Anil Sharma the director is coming back with its sequal Gadar: The Katha Continuous on August 11, which will feature the same cast Sunny Deol, Ameesha Patel and Utkarsh Sharma.
To create hype around the sequal, orignal Gadar is being re-released by Zee Studios ahead of its sequel, with the original film being remastered at a cost of Rs 2 crore.
Focusing on the young generation who never experienced the blood curdling scenes of Gadar. Whether it is the handpump scene, or the train sequence. Audience will be able get the same thrill now in selected theatres.
The re-released version of Gadar will feature additional scenes that were not included in the original release, providing an enhanced viewing experience. This new version of Gadar will be released in selected theaters on Friday, June 9. The number of screenings might expand based on the audience’s response to the film .
