Sara Ali Khan’s Next Sets Release Date On Prime Video

Bollywood sensation Sara Ali Khan is gearing up for a powerful portrayal in her upcoming film, ‘Ae Watan Mere Watan.’ Inspired by real freedom fighter Usha Mehta, the film pays tribute to unsung heroes.

‘Ae Watan Mere Watan’ is a fictional account of the role of an underground radio station in India’s struggle for Independence. Sara would be stepping into the shoes of Usha Mehta, the visionary behind the Congress Radio during the freedom struggle.

Adding to the cast, Emraan Hashmi may make a cameo appearance, portraying as Ram Manohar Lohia, who played a crucial role in Usha Mehta’s journey. The film is produced by the renowned Karan Johar and is directed by Kannan Iyer, who is known for his work on ‘Ek Thi Daayan.’

‘Ae Watan Mere Watan’ will be released in Hindi with dubs in Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam, aiming to reach a wide range of audience. Karan Johar expressed his excitement regarding the movie, while he highlighted that it is a tribute to radio’s role in uniting the nation during the Quit India Movement.

Co-producer Apurva Mehta further emphasized the global appeal of the film as it celebrates the courage, sacrifice and dedication of a society. The film aims to honor the legacy of those who played a pivotal role in India’s journey to independence.

Interestingly, Sara Ali Khan is not stopping with just one release this March. Together with ‘Ae Watan Mere Watan,’ she is set to grace the screens twice. Her other work, ‘Murder Mubarak,’ is a murder mystery which is supposed to premiere on Netflix on March 15. Sara will be seen working alongside a stellar cast including Karisma Kapoor, Vijay Varma, Dimple Kapadia, and Pankaj Tripathi.
