As there have been various problems surrounding the realm of OTT platforms almost every week, another huge issue has been rolled out on the internet by several users.

A user shared how a film, which was described to have a Dolby Atmos sound effect, didn’t deliver up to the mark despite the user being a premium subscriber on SonyLiv.

The film ran on PCM (Pulse Code Modulation) audio rather than working on Dolby Atmos as given in the description of the film. User also stated that it atleast should have run on Dolby 5.1 audio quality as PCM quality format is basic and outdated.

Supporting the statement, another user called out the OTT platform for the same issue, stating that SonyLiv was previously providing Dolby 5.1 audio but switched to providing stereo-only sound quality.

Upon enquiring about the same to their technical team, SonyLiv ultimately blamed the TV device to be the real fault, stating that it might not support the Dolby 5.1 sound quality.

Calling it as the worst service possible, users have been disappointed with the fact that despite paying full subscription fees, they are not able to experience top-quality viewing. It remains to be seen if SonyLiv further resolves this issue or not.
