The ongoing Asia Cup streaming on SonyLiv has left many users frustrated. Complaints about poor quality continue, and backlash may grow regardless of whether the platform fixes the technical issues.
A user went to social media to highlight another problem, pointing to the type of advertisements shown during matches. Many fans reported that the platform frequently interrupted the stream between overs with ads.
Most of these ads promoted condoms and included explicit content. They appeared not once but several times during the game, which left families shocked. The user said children watching the match felt uncomfortable throughout.
He further expressed anger over the exposure of young viewers to such content. His post read that kids who only wanted to enjoy cricket ended up seeing explicit ads repeatedly after every over.
As complaints mount, SonyLiv faces growing criticism. With streaming quality already a concern, the addition of controversial ads has made things worse. It remains to be seen how the platform plans to address these issues.
Thanks @SonyLIV for showing 70+ raunchy, vulgar and inappropriate condom ads from @DurexIndia & @ManforceIndia in yesterday’s #INDvsPAK cricket match!
My son’s school cricket team came together to watch this match on a big screen at our place – some of them as young as 7 year…
