JioHotstar buzzed all over social media after leaking their upcoming shows lineup along with episode previews of the same.
While the tweet was deleted instantly, fans copied the Doc file link, which contained all the information regarding Hotstar’s upcoming lineup, along with episode previews.
Although fans were surprised seeing how careless the developers at JioHotstar have been, it seems that the administrators were trying to trick the fans with the doc file, as upon opening any episode, an important message was put on display.
An unlisted YouTube video opens upon opening any of the preview links, which showcases Kay Kay Menon and Vinay Pathak in an intense action scene. However both the actors turn to the camera stating how the viewer has been scammed with a fraudulent internal link.
The Special Ops star further states that users should not click such internal links as they can derive sensitive data from users’ devices, hence opposing piracy and torrenting.
He further warned everyone to stop using such links to watch shows and buy JioHotstar instead to watch his newest series, Special Ops Season 2, to know more about such cyber attacks.
It was a smart strategy by JioHotstar to promote Kay Kay Menon’s latest show, which revolves around the complications of cyberattacks and Artificial Intelligence.
While users trolled the streaming giant for leaking their pilot episodes, they were fooled by a classic trick which led to a magnificient promotion of the show. Click on the link below to see the message unfold featuring Kay Kay Menon and Vinay Pathak.
