To dominate the tech market, Apple seems to have the secret at their fingertips, but when it comes to the entertainment industry, they are rapidly finding their way. Apple Original Films has unveiled the first look of “Fingernails,” and it does appear promising.
Even before discussing the cast, it’s hard to ignore the captivating color palette of the frames. The trailer’s background music, too, creates an excellent ambiance. Apple seems to have found the sweet spot.
From the very beginning, the teaser transports us to a dystopian sci-fi world where love is quantified through technology. The trailer offers a sneak peek at Jessie Buckley, who portrays Anna, embarking on her journey at the institute responsible for determining the authenticity of love.
The institute exudes a hospital-like vibe, with wall signs confirming this resemblance. There’s even a poster encouraging patients to undergo love testing; is this dystopian enough? Wait a moment, and you’ll notice the presence of rain sounds, providing patients with a soothing and romantic atmosphere.
The current trend in sci-fi movies delves into the nature of human emotions and relationships. Even the sixth season of “Black Mirror” focused more on humanity than technology, and this trend persists.
The cast features names like Jessie Buckley, Riz Ahmed, Jeremy Allen White, and Luke Wilson, an undoubtedly promising ensemble. Behind the camera, Christos Nikou will make his debut in English cinema.
“Fingernails” will have a limited theatrical release before hitting the platform on November 3rd. If you haven’t checked out the promising teaser yet, click below:
