Star Sues Disney With Musk’s Help

Gina Carano is accusing Disney and Lucasfilm of prejudice and wrongful termination, escalating a standoff over her departure from The Mandalorian. The action creates another front in the war for dominance over Filmmaking that has drawn up corporate America.

Carano, in a case filed Tuesday in California federal court, claims she was dismissed for expressing right-wing views on social media and demands a court order compelling Lucasfilm to recast her. Elon Musk, making good on a pledge to pay the legal fees for customers who allege to have been subjected to prejudice because of their activities on his platform, is funding the litigation via X.

X Corp has financially supported Gina Carano’s case against Disney for allegedly breaching her free speech privileges on the famous MMA show X. Carano was fired from the show for tweeting a government’s demands and falsely claiming voting fraud during the presidential election in 2020. The lawsuit claims that Disney ordered Carano to appear with the Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Discrimination & demand a public apology.

X is one of the last glimmerings of hope for free expression in the entire globe, and Musk has promised to support legal action for X users who claim to have encountered discrimination from their work. Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis filed the complaint as part of a bigger push to hold woke businesses accountable for their actions.
