With more and more OTT streaming global series, international content is getting mass exposure. JioCinema brought the HBO originals to the nation and fans are getting used to the global fever.
Hotstar had the streaming rights of Game Of Thrones but they streamed it in original audio. English audio has already become the most-watched series in India.
Lately, JioCinema is dubbing their original shows in major Indian regional languages. Even shows like Asur 2 and UP65 are being dubbed in 7 languages including Bhojpuri and Bangla who already have some exposure to Hindi. Now reports are coming that Game Of Thrones will be dubbed in Hindi and Tamil.
Hotstar didn’t dub as most of users were comfortable watching it in original audio anyway. But now as JioCinema is getting mass attention, they want to capitalize on it at its fullest.
Game Of Thrones became one of the best series that has ever been made in this century and there is sign of slowing as there are spinoff series coming out. ‘House of Dragons’ got ample popularity. Netflix and Prime Video tried to make an epic of the same caliber but didn’t come close.
