Ayushmann Khurrana and Rashmika Mandanna’s Thamma is now available on rent on Prime Video. Early audience reactions remain unchanged from the theatrical run. Despite crossing 150 crore at the box office, many viewers felt the film did not match its hype or MHCU expectations.
Thamma recovered its budget and earned praise for select moments, especially the appearance of Varun Dhawan as Bhediya. His entry lifted the narrative and brought energy to the story. Viewers also expected a strong villain arc from Nawazuddin Siddiqui, yet many felt his character lacked depth and impact.
After the digital release, users again called Thamma the weakest MHCU chapter so far. Ayushmann and Rashmika’s chemistry received appreciation, but the story and horror elements disappointed. The pacing felt rushed and left little room for character buildup.
The second half attempted to rise through Varun Dhawan’s cameo, but the film dipped again toward the end. Thamma stands as an average watch for many viewers, yet underperforms when judged against the standards of the larger MHCU timeline.
