Renowned filmmaker Vivek Agnihotri is all set to release his upcoming film The Bengal Files. Known for delivering hard-hitting and controversial films like The Kashmir Files and The Tashkent Files, this one seems to complete his trilogy. However, The Bengal Files might face an unexpected delay before its planned theatrical release on 5th September.
Vivek Agnihotri recently took to social media and claimed that several FIRs have been filed against him with the intention of preventing the film’s release. He pointed fingers at the ruling party in West Bengal, stating that these FIRs were politically motivated and meant to block the film from hitting theatres.
According to the director, the team faced many difficulties during the shoot as the West Bengal government reportedly did not offer any kind of cooperation. Despite all the hurdles, Vivek Agnihotri made it clear that he has no plans to back down. He stated that the film will still release in West Bengal and that he is prepared to overcome all obstacles.
Following his statement, many fans expressed concern over whether the film would actually release in theatres. Several users suggested that he consider launching The Bengal Files on ZEE5, especially since the same platform had released The Kashmir Files after its successful box office run. The idea of an OTT release has started gaining traction among audiences.
