The Idol: SEX Scenes, Nudity Censored In India?

The-IdolAt this point, whatever HBO produces, creates a buzz. Euphoria was a success so its creators are back with their new project, The Idol. The name doesn’t really go along with the situation as the series has an underwhelming performance and the rumor is, some of its scenes are censored in India.

The Weeknd and Lily Rose-Depp are starring in the series along with the massive acting debut of BLACKPINK member Jennie. As the first episode goes on, the series is filled with abuse and hot scenes.

Now, from previous experiences, fans expect some form of censorship in the series. But there wasn’t any, no beeping out the abuses, no blurring out the steamy scenes.

The series received a 5 min standing ovation at the Cannes festival but it is bearing a lot of negativity with it. Its rating is an abomination with 20% on Rotton Tomatoes. Even the dance scene of Jenny has more views than the premier of the series. That is pretty concerning.

Though the scenes and dialogues along with the subtitles aren’t censored, the number of views might be. Without the appearance of Jenny, the series might have been an absolute flop. This show even has 17% fewer viewers than the premier of Euphoria and that raises eyebrows.

Only time will tell about the censorship but they might have to work on the promotion to boost the numbers up a bit.
