Zee5 just released the official trailer of the documentary series ‘The Kashmir Files:Unreported’ and it is bone chilling.
The trailer features the hideous images of torture and terror that the Kashmiri Pandits faced during the political instability in the erstwhile state. The very raw nature of this portrayal sets this series apart from the movie and further away from anything that can be called fiction. The series directly narrates the horror faced by the Pandits in their own voice.
The trailer showcases a number of actual survivors telling their story and the torture and horror they faced. It creates a gory image as the narrator describes events of the time. The two minute long trailer is just a glimpse of years of ugly torture.
Vivek Agnihotri has made some huge claims that his series is a “type of national archive” which can serve as a “document for future”. It is both surprising and distressing that such claims are made by a filmmaker who is acting as an authority of truth. The release date is not yet out for the series but it is bound to have a controversial journey.
