We often hear inspiring stories of talented individuals who overcome hardships, and they are often portrayed well in films. An example of this is Anand Kumar in ‘Super 30,’ who, despite facing numerous challenges, managed to help all his students secure admissions into prestigious IITs.
There’s an upcoming movie titled ’12th Fail,’ which seems to capture a similar intensity. The film revolves around a young man from a financially disadvantaged background who aspires to become an IAS officer. To achieve his dream, he must pass the UPSC exam, considered one of the world’s toughest. While ’12th Fail’ is not a biopic, it draws heavy inspiration from the life stories of IPS officer Manoj Kumar and IRS officer Sharadhha Joshi. The movie boasts a stellar cast, including Vikrant Massey, Palak Lalwani, and Sanjay Bishnoi.
The trailer of ’12th Fail’ in many ways reminds us of TVF’s highly acclaimed web series, ‘Aspirants,’ which also delves into the journeys of UPSC aspirants. Vikrant Massey, known for his roles in movies like ‘Chhapaak’ and ‘Haseen Dilruba,’ seems to have brilliantly embodied his character and appears convincing. Given that it’s a Vidhu Vinod Chopra production, there are likely very few chances of ’12th Fail’ lacking emotional depth and strong storytelling. “12th Fail” directed by Vidhu Vinod Chopra himself, is set to release on 27th October 2023.
