“Zara Hatke Zara Bachke,” released in June 2022, instantly became a sleeper hit, defying expectations for a romcom. Starring Vicky Kaushal and Sara Ali Khan, the film connected with audiences through its breezy comedy and hit songs like “Tere Vaste” and “Phir Aur Kya Chahiye.” Despite its success, the movie is yet to premiere on any OTT platforms, raising questions about its delayed release even six months after hitting theaters.
Considered a hit, the film lacked extensive promotion, contrasting with the trend of movies swiftly transitioning to OTT platforms within a month or two of theatrical release. Directed by Laxman Utekar, this light-hearted romcom follows a couple’s quest for a private house with the assistance of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojna.
In contrast, movies like “The Ladykiller,” starring Arjun Kapoor, faced a rushed theatrical release even before completion, driven by the imminent digital premiere dates. The situation surrounding “Zara Hatke Zara Bachke” appears suspicious, especially given the absence of promotional content from Jio Cinema, which was expected to premiere the movie.
