Aamir Khan is promoting Sitaare Zameen Par these days and can be spotted in various interviews and podcasts where he candidly speaks about his life and career. Recently, he shared his view on his acclaimed film Laapata Ladies that went on to be India’s Oscar entry.
It was directed by Kiran Rao and produced by Aamir. The film was released on 1 March 2024 and came to Netflix just 8 months after that.

Aamir shared that he regretted this deal with Netflix because he felt that if he had allowed the word-of-mouth and popularity of the film to take its full toll it would have done exceptionally well in theatres and could have been a blockbuster. Although fans were quick to point out that it got more viewership on OTT and reached wider demographics.
After a point the hype was low but the OTT release revived the buzz around it again. Aamir should be thankful for this rather than being too invested in big screens, the recent trends show how his films are doing badly on big screens but getting some revival at the OTT, for instance Laal Singh Chaddha.
