After Radhe, Dabangg; Salman to Destroy Bajrangi Bhaijaan 2?

The Salman Khan who delivered Sikandar- a film that hasn’t even crossed the 200-crore mark yet, is the same actor who once gave us the blockbuster Bajrangi Bhaijaan, which collected around ₹920 crores globally.

As with any massively successful film in Bollywood, rumours are now circulating about a possible sequel to this fan-favourite.

Bajrangi Bhaijaan is loved for many reasons- its music, Salman’s heartfelt performance, the strong message of love and hope, and its emotional storytelling. All these elements contributed to making it a cherished film, both in India and abroad.

However, considering Salman Khan’s recent performances, a sequel might not be the best idea at this time.

The film might work only because it is said to bring back the original team behind the first part. If the creators can come up with a story that’s fresh and emotionally resonant, the sequel might just live up to expectations.

That said, Salman’s health hasn’t been at its best, and his recent performances feel mechanical and uninspired. No matter how strong a script is, the actors’ performances ultimately define how the film is received.

If his acting in Bajrangi Bhaijaan 2 ends up resembling his work in Radhe, Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan, or Sikandar, then the sequel could potentially tarnish the legacy of a much-loved classic.

There’s also a strong chance that this rumour was floated to distract from the disappointment of Sikandar. With the film underperforming, these whispers may be an attempt to shift the conversation and keep fans engaged.

If the sequel is indeed happening, both Salman and the makers need to be careful not to damage the legacy of a cult classic just to salvage the actor’s current image.
