It seems like Deva’s energetic trailer has failed to excite its audience enough to book tickets to the film.
The film has sold only about 15000 tickets across major national multiplex chains like PVR, Inox, and Cinepolis. These numbers indicate an opening of only Rs 4-5 crores.

Will Deva’s future be similar to that of Sky Force?

According to trade analysts, the box office numbers for Sky Force were highly manipulated. The tickets were sold at a discounted price of Rs 25-50, but the collection was calculated according to Rs 250-300 per ticket.
Not only that, but the theatres showed houseful but many screenings had only a handful of viewers. It was as if producers had bought tickets themselves to generate fake hype.

While Sky Force reportedly earned Rs 13 crore on its opening day, industry experts estimate its actual earnings were just 50-60% of that figure.
On the other hand, Deva’s Rs 4-5 crore opening may be low, but at least it appears to be an honest collection.
For the film to break into the ₹100 crore club and recover its production costs, it will need exceptionally strong word-of-mouth.
Will the makers resort to strategies like Sky Force to boost the number? It is highly unlikely, but in this industry, anything is possible.
