Imagine paying Rs. 10 to watch a new movie in theatres. Sounds crazy right? But that’s what’s happening with Sky Force and Bhool Chuk Maaf.
Both films produced by Maddock Films are being sold for dirt cheap online and everyone’s talking about it.
BookMyShow is offering a flat Rs. 100 discount on these two movies. So if a ticket is Rs. 120, you pay Rs. 20 or even Rs. 10 in some cases.
People are booking and sharing screenshot on Social Media to show how little they paid. But here’s the twist — official collections still show full ticket prices.
This raises a big question: who’s covering the Rs. 100 loss per ticket? Is the producer paying from their pocket?
Or is it a hidden deal with BookMyShow? Either way the box office numbers don’t tell the full story. The film may look like it’s doing well — but is it really?
Sky Force gave Maddock Films some confidence. Now they want Bhool Chuk Maaf to follow the same path.
Offer cheap tickets and more people will walk in. It creates buzz and shows full theatres — even if those seats were almost free.
Some say it’s clever marketing. Others feel it’s desperation. If people watch a movie for Rs. 10 will they still respect its success? And what happens when this trick doesn’t work anymore?
Yes filling theatres helps build hype. But fudging the real picture can hurt in the long run. A hit should be earned not bought. And the line between promotion and damage control is getting thinner every week.
