Ananya Birla has officially stepped into the film industry with the launch of her new production banner, Birla Studios. She has moved quickly and is already in talks with established directors.
Reports suggest that Birla Studios is discussing projects with Anees Bazmee, Shoojit Sircar, and Neeraj Pandey. The studio plans to balance artistic storytelling with large scale commercial cinema.
While the names involved are well known, some industry watchers feel the choices come with risks. Neeraj Pandey is now largely associated with OTT driven content, while Shoojit Sircar is known for a distinct and niche style of filmmaking.
Anees Bazmee, on the other hand, is primarily identified with comedy films. Critics believe this could limit creative variety if not handled carefully.
None of the three directors are currently seen as guaranteed crowd pullers on their own. This has led to curiosity about what kind of stories they may develop under the Birla Studios banner.
Ananya Birla has also clarified that the studio will not be limited to Hindi cinema. Birla Studios plans to produce films in multiple languages, including Gujarati and Malayalam.
The banner also intends to explore international English language projects. A key focus will be on storytelling that connects with audiences while offering opportunities to new talent and fresh voices.
