And now, once again, Bobby Deol has managed to surprise the audience with his look in Anurag Kashyap’s Bandar.
The film will premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival, under the Special Presentations category.
Inspired by real-life events, the film also stars Sanya Malhotra in a key role.
Bobby Deol dropped the first look from the film on Instagram and saying fans were excited is an understatement.
Bandar has been produced by Nikhil Dwivedi, who previously backed Veere Di Wedding and this year’s CTRL.
What caught the attention of many fans is the film’s writing team, Sudip Sharma, known for Paatal Lok, Kohrra, Sonchiriya, Udta Punjab, and NH10, and Abhishek Banerjee, who also worked on Paatal Lok and Pari.
These shows and films have left lasting impressions on viewers, and their involvement has made Bandar one of the most anticipated projects of the year.
Some fans have even pointed out how having Malayalam actors like Joju George and Indrajith Sukumaran in an Anurag Kashyap film, written by the minds behind Paatal Lok and starring Bobby Deol, is the kind of “out-of-syllabus” development Bollywood needs more of.
Currently, Bollywood is set in a template, which some films are trying to break. However, there aren’t many. This film might be one of those that breaks the template. It might be a big risk, but surely worth it.
With such a powerful combination of talent, expectations are sky-high. Fans can’t wait for Bandar to release in India.
