With three months already flown by, 2025 has been a reflective year so far for Bollywood. A grim picture is painted while looking at the Industry’s Box Office statistics for the year 2025.
Out of eight major films released this year, the industry has seen just one blockbuster in the form of Vicky Kaushal’s ‘Chhaava’. The rest seven have either been disasters or below average at best.

Fateh, Emergency, Azaad, and Sikandar are some of the names to be counted in the list of disasters, while Sohum Shah’s ‘Crazxy’ and Shahid Kapoor’s Deva can be counted as flops with collections of Rs.12 Cr. And Rs.32 Crores respectively.
Akshay Kumar’s ‘Sky Force’ and John Abraham’s ‘The Diplomat’ come under the ‘below average’ category, with collections of Rs.109 Cr. and Rs.38 Cr. (expected) respectively, according to trade reports.

Sky Force has faced scrutiny in this as well, with its Rs.109 Cr. collection mostly inflated due to self-bookings and block bookings, with the real numbers somewhere around Rs.50-60 Crores if media reports are to be believed.
With such a disastrous report card, it will be interesting to see if the industry manages to turn things around to produce more hits as the year goes on.
