As the first half of 2025 wraps up, the state of the box office is also under the verdict of critics and cinephiles. The report card is out and it is not a very bright result unfortunately for the Bollywood movies.
First up, the good performer was an exceptional blockbuster Chhaava that reigned the industry. But nothing came close to it, and it was followed up by a couple of decent hits like Sitaare Zameen Par and Raid 2.
There were films that were big in the news and might have gained some critical appreciation but disappointed at BO, many of which include Kesari 2, Phule, Super Boys of Malegaon, The Diplomat, and Sky Force. Amongst these Sikandar was an unexpected failure because Salman Khan and AR Murugadoss tried their best yet couldn’t impress the audiences.
Housefull 5 although earned decent money but was deemed an absolute brainrot and senseless film by majority. Loveyapa, Badass Ravi Kumar, Emergency, The Bhootni and others like these are films that movie-goers just want to forget.
Now all the hopes lie with the second half of this year. With highly anticipated projects like War 2, Alpha, Param Sundari, Jolly LLB 3, Dhurandhar and others on the roll, fans hope for a revival of the box office entertainment.
