shahid-kapoor-deva-movie fooling audience

Deva is out, and Shahid Kapoor spoke about the climax during a Q&A on X. He was “shocked” by the twist and called it “fresh” and “unpredictable.”

He also said that director Rosshan Andrrews shot multiple versions of the climax, and even he didn’t know which one would make it to the final cut.

In Deva, Shahid’s character kills his friend Rohan after Rohan discovers that he is tipping off criminals before raids. This is similar to the climax of Mumbai Police, where the protagonist kills his friend after his sexuality is exposed.

But while the twist in Deva is shocking, it doesn’t have the same emotional impact as the original, which went deeper into psychological and emotional conflicts.

While Deva gives a fresh spin to the story, it doesn’t have the emotional complexity of Mumbai Police. The original went deeper into guilt, identity, and internal conflict, so it has more impact.

Deva may be an ambitious remake, but it doesn’t have the emotional punch of Mumbai Police. In the end, it is still a remake, and Shahid fooled the audience by claiming it wasn’t one.

He tried to create hype with the “multiple climaxes” gimmick, but it fell flat. The audience felt cheated.
