Strict Warning to Bollywood: Only One Film Allowed

FWICE Lifts Ban on Diljit Dosanjh

Diljit Dosanjh found himself embroiled in a controversy after the release of the trailer of his film Sardaarji 3. The reason? The film also starred Hania Aamir.

Given the backdrop of the Pulwama attack and the ban on Pakistani artists, the film wasn’t accepted by the Indian audience. Nor was it released in the country, except for overseas.

In the meantime, the Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) called for a ban on Diljit Dosanjh. However, in a recent development, the authorities have temporarily lifted the ban on the actor, only for the film Border 2.

According to FWICE President B.N. Tiwari, the decision came after producer Bhushan Kumar personally appealed and informed them that the film is nearly 85% complete. That also meant Diljit’s portions have mostly been shot.

However, filmmaker Ashoke Pandit, who is also associated with FWICE, clarified that the relief is project-specific. He reportedly said, “The non-cooperation against Diljit continues. Future projects involving him won’t be entertained, and producers casting him must be ready for consequences.” he said.

Meanwhile, Bhushan Kumar has apparently agreed to issue a written assurance that Diljit won’t be cast again.

So, is it the last time that we are going to see Diljit in any Indian film? Only time will tell.
