Tip Tip Barsa Paani, a sensual number featuring Raveena Tandon, Akshay Kumar and a lot of rain, is arguably one of the most sensual dance numbers in Bollywood. From the film Mohra, this track performed by Alka Yagnik and Udit Narayan is nothing short of iconic.

In a recent interview, the actress opened up about how she was extremely uncomfortable on the shoot for the song as she was on her period. It was shot under cold water to create the rainy set-up, and she had to get completely drenched for the song.

Who would have guessed that behind one of Bollywood’s hottest songs, the actress faced such intense discomfort and had no choice but to push through?

Mohra, now considered as a cult classic, was released in 1994. It also featured Naseeruddin Shah, Suniel Shetty, Raza Murad, Paresh Rawal, Gulshan Grover, and Sadashiv Amrapurkar in supporting roles. Some reports say that Divya Bharti was originally cast as the lead heroine but it changed after her untimely demise. Raveena replaced her and delivered an excellent performance, making it one of the most memorable films in her career.

With songs like Tu Cheez Badi Hai Mast Mast, Kaash Kahin Aisa Hota, Subah Se Lekar and Na Kajare Ki Dhar, Mohra was the highest-selling Bollywood soundtrack album of 1994. The film’s soundtrack album sold more than 8 million units. The song Tu Cheez Badi Hai Mast Mast was even remade for the film Machine starring Kiara Advani and Mustafa Burmawala.
