Aamir, Akshay, Ajay Fail: Will WAR 2 Cross 1 Cr?

WAR 2

In 2025, Chhaava has emerged as a standout success, crossing the 1 crore footfalls mark with ease—selling an estimated 3 crore tickets.

This strong audience turnout has pushed its box office collection to nearly ₹600 crore, making it the biggest blockbuster of the year so far.

In comparison, other major releases like Raid 2, Housefull 5, Sikandar, Sitaare Zameen Par, and Sky Force haven’t been able to attract even 1 crore viewers each, despite some of them posting impressive revenue numbers.

This highlights a growing trend: films are earning more due to higher ticket prices and premium multiplex audiences, rather than widespread viewership.

This shift raises concerns for the film industry. In a country of over 140 crore people, the fact that most “hit” movies can’t draw even 1 crore viewers points to a disconnect with the broader audience.

While revenues might look strong on paper, the actual reach and impact of these films remain limited.

It suggests that Bollywood may be struggling to create stories that resonate across the masses.

The next big hope for the industry is War 2.

The film is already creating strong buzz ahead of its release, topping BookMyShow’s interest charts with more than 1.5 lakh likes—more than any other upcoming film.

Featuring Hrithik Roshan and Jr NTR and scheduled for an Independence Day release, War 2 is being seen as the most likely candidate to cross the 1 crore footfalls mark next.

If War 2 falls short, Chhaava might end the year as the only film to truly connect with a large segment of the Indian audience.

This could serve as a timely reminder for Bollywood: big box office numbers don’t necessarily mean widespread success.
