Housefull 5 Star’s Family Trolled: Told to Die?!

John Lever Daughter Jamie Lever Trolled Brutally

Johny Lever’s daughter, Jamie Lever, recently opened up about her experiences growing up, and fans can’t help but point out how many people face similar issues, which is deeply concerning.

The actress and comedian shared how, during her younger years, she was insecure about her weight and appearance. To feel more comfortable, she often wore long, loose-fitting clothes that concealed her frame.

Even her parents advised her to wear loose clothing to hide her hips and other parts of her body, which eventually led to discomfort in her own skin and a growing sense of self-hate.

But that wasn’t all. She also had to endure hurtful comments about her skin colour.

Jamie revealed that people would say things like she is dark, she is ugly, her laugh is like a witch, she is not getting work because of her looks. Some even went to the extreme and asked her to die.

Jamie said that in today’s time, racism and colourism continue to be major problems.

She was advised to apply ubtan, face masks, turmeric, and other remedies to lighten her skin tone.

There has long been an unspoken belief in Bollywood that to succeed, a woman must be fair-skinned, slim, and tall. Anything outside of that is often looked down upon.

While these narrow-minded standards are slowly evolving and the industry is becoming more inclusive, the pace is far from fast enough.

Unfortunately, the preference still leans toward fair, slim, and tall actresses — a mindset that needs to change. The industry must embrace true inclusivity.
