All the theatres across India are expected to accumulate a lot of profits this week, considering that two big films have been released. The first is Kajol’s mythological horror Maa, followed by the sports drama F1, featuring Brad Pitt and many others.
F1 has already taken a decent start, and the same can be said for Maa. The latter has pulled a lot of audience as it belongs to the horror genre, aiming for a net collection of almost Rs. 4 crores. The number is expected to jump in the next two days.
Although both films will undoubtedly face competition from Sitaare Zameen Par, which is currently in its second week, Maa is supposed to attract audiences in certain mass circuits.
On the other hand, F1 is a perfect treat for those who love racing, cars, and are willing to experience the same on the big screen.
Coming back to Sitaare Zameen Par, the film had a good first week, despite that there were claims of block booking.
SZP also maintained a decent hold on the weekdays, and this was a surprise since the film was released with very minimal expectations, considering the controversies of Aamir Khan.
While trade experts predicted SZP to touch the mark of Rs. 175 crores in terms of the lifetime net collection in India, it seems like the film might face some obstacles as audiences are easily getting pulled towards Maa and F1.
SZP has to maintain a strong hold for the second week as well, so that it can become a decent hit with collections close to Rs. 200 crores. The first week numbers were reported to be Rs. 86 crores, and the film has to aim to hit the same mark or more than that.
