While Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana is preparing for a grand release worldwide in November 2026, a new film based on the same concept is releasing on September 25, 2026.
Titled Mahakavya Shri Ramayan Katha, the movie will arrive in two different languages: Hindi and Chhattisgarhi. The trailer of the film is also out now, and public reactions have shown that they are not impressed. Although the makers have tried to keep everything authentic, the efforts have not worked.
For the unversed, the film will be released in theatres, and this is the one thing that has disappointed people. Netizens reacted by saying that it is a film that deserves to be released on OTT for a lot of reasons.
A majority pointed out that the trailer is giving the vibes of a TV show instead of a big theatrical film. Apart from all this, the performances of the leads are already receiving criticism before release. Anjali Arora has been trolled for her cringe dialogues on screen. Furthermore, Dev Sharma, who plays Ram, is also being criticized, with social media users saying that he is overacting.
People also wrote that the VFX is not up to the mark, and it can be clearly spotted that everything has been shot with a green screen. Netizens said that the vision of the makers is perfect for a television show and it is a big mistake to bring the film to the theatres.
On the other hand, a particular section has appreciated the work of Rajniesh Duggal as Ravan, adding that he should have been cast in Ranbir Kapoor’s upcoming film instead of Yash.
With the trailer arriving eight days before release, it is impossible for a film with no star value to build a lot of buzz as required. Let’s wait and see if a miracle will save the movie in any manner.
