The trailer of Kangana Ranaut’s new film Panga is out. It reminds one of Jersey only with a female protagonist and different sport.
The common theme both Jersey and Panga share is the comeback of a highly talented champion player when least expected. Age is the biggest concern that makes one guffaw. The similarity, however, ends there and Panga has a lot more going on for it with a female protagonist.
The women empowerment, motherhood and other angles which we get a glimpse of makes Panga a much fuller and contemporarily appealing narrative. Kangana Ranaut is in fine form, and the rest of the supporting cast is terrific. The writing is also bang-on. The simplicity of the whole thing is what makes the trailer an instant winner.
Check out the trailer below. Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari directs the movie. Panga is her third film after Nil Battey Sannata, and Bareilly Ki Barfi. The previous two won after Best Director trophies, and it looks like Panga might give her the third one. Panga hits screens worldwide on January 24th, 2020 clashing with biggie ABCD – 3 aka Street Dancer.
