Veer Pahariya’s next film, which also features Aparshakti Khurana, has finally locked its release date for October 2, 2026. A remake of the 2024 Malayalam film Premalu, Veer and Aparshakti’s film is titled Prem Keetanu.
The upcoming movie has been directed by Apoorv Singh Karki, who is known for his work on films like Sirf Ek Bandaa Kaafi Hai. Apart from Veer and Aparshakti, the film also has Aafiya Sayed, Rakesh Bedi, and Nikhil Vijay playing important roles.
While the announcement was supposed to create some excitement and hype for the film, it has turned into something else. This is due to the fact that the film will clash with Drishyam 3, which has already finalized the same date a long time ago.
Ever since Mohanlal’s film came out in theatres, netizens are waiting to see the Hindi version featuring Ajay Devgn. The major reason has been the reports claiming that this is going to be the final installment and the entire screenplay will be changed instead of doing a frame-by-frame remake.
Netizens have now questioned the chances of Prem Keetanu surviving in front of Drishyam 3, which is confirmed to work at the box office. A few people even stated that people are clearly interested in seeing Drishyam 3 at first, and if they like it, they are going to watch it again and again.
A particular section stated that a lot of things are going against Prem Keetanu for now. They said that while the remake factor is undoubtedly one of the biggest reasons, they also mentioned that the teaser released recently has hardly any resemblance to Premalu. Some even called it a cheap version of the hit Malayalam film, adding that the makers have ruined the remake.
On the other hand, trade experts and critics had a completely different point of view. They said that the movie can still survive in front of Drishyam 3 if the budget is extremely low and if the music can leave an impression in some manner.
With a lot of red flags appearing for Prem Keetanu before release, let’s wait and see if the makers will take the feedback seriously and prefer to shift it to another date.
