Saiyaara is creating a different kind of impact at the box office. The collections are increasing with every passing day. But the wait will be a little bit longer for all those who could not visit the theatres and are expecting to watch it on OTT.
The initial format was that films used to arrive on any OTT around eight weeks after their original release in theatres. For a few others, the gap used to be four weeks or less than that, which includes Game Changer and Hit: The Third Case.
However, things are going to change for Saiyaara due to its box office performance, and as per the latest update, Yash Raj Films is reportedly planning its OTT release in Diwali 2025, which is in October. An official announcement is yet to be made on the same.
For now, the film will be released directly on Netflix, which means that there won’t be the usual methods of putting it out on rent at first and then making it available for free. Anyone who has a subscription to Netflix will be able to stream it directly on any device.
Just like any other film, Saiyaara is expected to bring a lot of viewership for the streaming platform. While flops or disasters have also managed to trend on Netflix with more views, this time the records might be broken and Saiyaara might remain on top for several weeks.
The success of Saiyaara is something that will be remembered for years. An impressive trailer and impressive music were enough to pull audiences to the theatres. While it was expected to pull only youth audiences, people of all age groups are visiting the theatres.
However, the biggest question right now is whether Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda will get a chance to show their potential for another time with a similar project. Let’s wait and see.
