The Po Po Song from Son of Sardaar 2 has been released on July 17, 2025. It is an attempt to recreate the original song by catering to the needs of the modern-day audience.
The music video looks stylish and colorful, and composer Tanishk Bagchi has tried his best to bring back the memories of the original track, with Guru Randhawa giving his voice. The song is okay but it still fails to match the level of the original single from the 2012 film.
The first thing is that the hook step of Po Po has been updated, and it does not bring anything new or innovative. Even if there are glimpses of the hook step, people are expected to say that the original was much better.
Moreover, audiences are also addressing the absence of Sanjay Dutt and Salman Khan. The latter made a cameo in the 2012 film in the beginning and later in the Po Po Song, bringing a different kind of atmosphere inside the theatres. Apart from this, the new track is missing the energy that was present in the original song.
The best thing is that all the characters have been brought together in the song, and they have made equal contributions by dancing to the lyrics. But as expected, Ajay Devgn and Mrunal Thakur take away the spotlight, with the latter appearing glamorous on screen.
Overall, it can be said that the new song is not up to the mark. With only a week left for release, the film needs a boost to attract audiences since all the promotional materials have turned out to be underwhelming or average.
The teaser and trailer are missing the laugh-out-loud comedy that is generally expected from such films. It seems like the presence of actors like Sanjay Mishra or Chunky Panday have not helped the film and everything will be revealed once Son of Sardaar 2 releases on July 25, 2025.
For now, there is no buzz and the advance booking reports of Saiyaara have proved that SOS 2 might have to go through a tough phase in terms of leaving a positive impression.
