SRK is back in action — literally. After over a year of planning, delays and changes, SRK and director Siddharth Anand have finally started shooting their action film King.
The cameras rolled today at Mehboob Studios in Mumbai and the team is eyeing a Gandhi Jayanti 2026 release.
October 2, 2026 is a Friday and a national holiday — a golden combination for box office success.
That’s the date King is targeting. After SRK’s monster hits in 2023, trade experts believe this film could be his next 500-crore film if everything goes well.
The shoot will go on throughout the year with plans to shoot in India and Europe. The aim is to wrap up by December so the film is ready for a big launch in 2026.
King has seen major changes since it was first planned. It was supposed to be a Sujoy Ghosh film with Suhana Khan in the lead and SRK in a cameo. But now it’s a full-fledged SRK film directed by Siddharth Anand.
SRK plays a deadly assassin. Suhana plays his protégé whose life changes after a big tragedy. They team up for revenge. It’s classic Siddharth Anand territory — fast, stylish and emotional.
The film has a massive cast. Along with SRK, Suhana and Deepika Padukone, the cast includes Abhishek Bachchan as the villain.
Also on board are Anil Kapoor, Jackie Shroff, Rani Mukerji, Arshad Warsi, Jaideep Ahlawat and Abhay Verma.
This is not just a solo hero story. It’s being built as a big screen event with multiple layers, faces and drama.
2026 is already loaded with big films — Border 2 on Republic Day, Toxic on Eid, Naagzilla and Bhediya 2 on Independence Day, Ramayana on Diwali and possibly Love & War or Mahavatar during Christmas.
But King stands tall. SRK’s star power plus Siddharth Anand’s direction is a winning combination.
After Pathaan and Jawan, the audience wants more — and this film could deliver just that. Not just a launch film for Suhana Khan. The action has begun and if all goes well, October 2026 will be of the King.
